Maranatha High School’s Learning Assistance Program

Educational leader Kristopher Dreyer has experience managing private and charter school operations. Most recently, Kristopher Dreyer served as CEO of Maranatha High School in Pasadena, California.

A faith-based evangelical college preparatory school, Maranatha promotes development of children’s minds and hearts through academics, arts, sports, and community service, with all elements designed to encourage students to represent Christ. Committed to high educational standards, the school offers programs to help students maximize their learning experiences, including the learning assistance program (LAP).

LAP is a research-backed program that provides educational support to students with learning differences. Fashioned after college support systems, the program’s goal is to provide students the best tools to take ownership of their learning. The program facilitates testing accommodations for classes and college admission tests. In addition, the program can be tailored to offer elements such as tutoring in STEM or the humanities, direct instruction in effective study practices, instruction in self-advocacy, guidance in communication strategies, and academic counseling.

LAP, however, is not a special needs program, and does not offer modifications to curriculum.
